Latvian Youth Policy Forum

Latvian Youth Policy Forum is an initiative of young people and stakeholders as well as those involved in youth work for participation in youth policy making. The Forum will take place every two years where will participate youth and youth organizations from all over the Latvia to share ideas with the youth policy makers, to discuss emerging trends in youth policy and develop recommendations on youth policy development.
This year's Youth Policy Forum "Local government investments in youth. Youth work implementation challenges" in particular will draw attention to the local youth work and quality of youth life conditions. Forum will take place on 25th-26th, October, 2010, in the Maritim Park Hotel Riga, Slokas street 1, Riga.
The main goal of the Forum is to improve youth work in municipalities and develop recommendations for municipalities according to the National youth policy framework, the European Union and the Council of Europe youth policy and national good practice.
The Forum will bring together about 300 participants - young people, representatives of the youth organizations, local governments, state administrative institutions and other youth policy makers. During the Forum participants will work in the thematic working groups and jointly develop youth policy recommendations for municipalities that could form the basis for future youth work development in Latvia, including the promotion of youth work planning for the long-term development strategies or other planning documents in the field of youth policy.
